C3 AI has booked a five-year, $500 million production contract with the Defense Department to further deploy the company’s portfolio of artificial intelligence software across the agency.

DOD signed this Other Transaction Authority agreement to accelerate the timeline for acquiring the company’s enterprise AI products for agencies and other components to use in modeling and simulation, C3 AI said Thursday.

“The new Agreement has a DOD-wide scope, accelerating research projects in simulation and modelling and production deployments for operations and sustainment,” C3 AI CEO Thomas Siebel said in a release.

Current users of C3 AI’s defense and intelligence-focused applications inside DOD include the Air Force, Space Command, Rapid Sustainment Office, F-35 joint program office and Defense Information Systems Agency.

Among the use cases C3 AI touts are insider threat, security clearance adjudication, readiness, AI predictive maintenance, modelling and simulation, missile trajectory modelling and data fusion.
