Amentum elevates new technical services business lead

Amentum said Thursday it has promoted one of its senior vice presidents in Jim Blankenhorn to lead the company’s technical services business in a move that takes effect Monday.

That organization provides engineering, design, complex facility operations, safety management and environmental services to government customers in the U.S. and international locations.

Most recently, Blankenhorn has worked as senior vice president for operations and sector lead for nuclear operations and cleanup.

The three-decade nuclear and environmental industry veteran is also a former chief operating officer and deputy project manager for the Amentum-led Nuclear Waste Partnership LLC venture that works at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant location in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Blankenhorn’s career also includes stints as chief operating officer of Perma-Fix Environmental Services, deputy project manager for West Valley Environmental Services LLC, and program director for the Waste Disposition Project at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
