Iridium hires new technical chief
Iridium Communications appoints a nearly three-decade technology industry veteran as its new chief technical officer.
Iridium Communications has hired nearly three-decade technology industry veteran Greg Pelton as chief technical officer.
The appointment takes effect Thursday and Pelton will succeed the retiring Hermon Pon, Iridium said Monday.
Pelton will oversee Iridium’s technology and development engineering team that is responsible for technical roadmaps and strategy, system architecture and design, engineering design and process, performance and analysis, and system integration, verification and validation.
Most recently, Pelton was chief product officer at artificial and augmented intelligence firm Pryon.
His career also includes roles such as vice president of collaboration and devices, chief technology officer and VP for infrastructure engineering at Polycom, and head of Cisco’s corporate technology center.
