IBM wins $850M Navy ERP order

IBM wins a giant piece of the Navy's broader effort to improve financial controls and performance, in part by adopting a consolidated enterprise resource planning setup.
IBM has been picked by the Navy to provide enterprise resource planning support services under a five-year, $850 million task order
The contract consolidates support for several ERP systems under a single prime. Deltek data indicates some of those now displaced primes include Accenture, CACI International, CGI Federal, Leidos, Science Applications International Corp. and others.
It isn’t clear when exactly the award happened and whether the window on protests has closed already. The order was awarded under the SeaPort-NXG vehicle.
The Navy announced the award of the Navy ERP Technical Support Services or NETSS contract this week, but it has yet to appear in any of the contract databases such as the Federal Procurement Data System and Beta.Sam.gov.
I’ve reached out to IBM for comment and will update this post if and when I hear back.
According to the Navy announcement, the contract will help more Navy commands migrate to the Navy ERP system that should support a clean financial audit.
So far, seven commands and the Office of the Secretary of the Navy have moved from legacy financial systems to the Navy ERP.
The NETSS contract includes IT, information management, large scale systems integration, and IT mission support. IBM will upgrade and support ERP capabilities including business intelligence, logistics, development, deployment and sustainment.
Other capabilities include process management, solution delivery and data services that will support enterprise information management, solution engineering, business process management, analytics, and decision support services.
