Amyx completes CEO transition

Find opportunities — and win them.

Amyx wraps up a transition at the very top that sees a 14-year veteran become CEO and the now-retired leader remain a stockholder.

Reston, Virginia-based small business Amyx has undergone a transition at the very top of its leadership group with former Chief Operating Officer William Schaefer’s elevation to CEO.

The move completed Wednesday, nearly one month after Amyx first announced Schaefer would succeed the now-retired CEO Satya Akula who previously led the government services company for nine years.

Akula will continue to be a stockholder in the company he and the original group of investors purchased in 2008.

Schaefer first joined Amyx in 2006 and worked in roles of increasing responsibility before his appointment to COO in 2016.

Amyx’s key customers include the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Transportation Command, Defense Health Agency, Securities and Exchange Commission, Army, Defense Logistics Agency, and the departments of Energy and Homeland Security.
