WIT leadership awards recognize multiple GovCon execs

Women executives from government contracting firms took home multiple awards during the annual Women In Technology Leadership Awards program.
Women executives from GovCon firms were well represented among the winners of the Women In Technology leadership awards last week
All three winners of the corporate sector awards represent government contractors.
Lisa Finneran, vice president of engineering for General Dynamics Mission Systems, won the Corporate Large-Market Sector award.
Tina Kuhn, CEO of CyberCore Technologies, won the Corporate Mid-Market award. Lara Coffee, executive vice president of human resources and marketing and communication at Computer Systems Center Inc., won for the small market sector.
Sherry Hwang, president and co-founder of Pyramid Systems, won the Small Business/Entrepreneur award.
Brigitte Custer, chief technology officer for intelligence and homeland security at General Dynamics IT, won the award for STEM Leadership.
Other winners include:
- Christie Canaria of the National Cancer Institute received the Government & Defense award.
- Rebecca Schneider of Dewberry won the Rising Star award.
- Kristin Aguiar-Burns of Fannie Mae won the Unsung Hero award.
Science Applications International Corp. won the Corporate Leadership Award from the Leadership Foundry, which works to prepare women for corporate board service.
Michelle Durante received the WIT President’s Award for her work with WIT, such as her efforts with the membership committee, chair of Cyber Special Interest Group and as sponsorship chair.
The annual awards program recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of female leaders in entrepreneurial, STEM, government and corporate roles in the Washington, D.C. region.
