RIVA Solutions and Robotic Process Automation

RIVA Solutions has supported human resource management at the National Science Foundation for the last three years and has developed robotic process automation bots to drive cost savings and increase efficiencies. The bots take on the mundane, repetitive work done by NSF employees, freeing them to take on higher-value tasks.

RPA bot tasks include automating the submission of the monthly job openings and labor turnover survey to the Labor Department. A bot also generates time-off award certificates and sends them to the awardee and their supervisor

A third bot monitors the submission monthly reports and determines when they are overdue or missing and sends a reminder to branch chiefs outlining their action items.

The bots have driven costs savings and efficiencies but have also been an education resource. SOSi has used its human relationships to gain buy-in and create what it calls a “sticky factor” for lasting integration of the RPA bots.
