CenturyLink promotes exec as federal lead
CenturyLink has promoted one of its executives to the role of regional vice president for the company’s federal government business.
CenturyLink has promoted Zain Ahmed to the role of regional vice president for the company’s federal government business.
Ahmed will be responsible for civilian agencies, special programs and Defense Department sales. He previously led CenturyLink’s efforts focused on law enforcement, civil agencies and cybersecurity in the federal market.
This appointment comes less than a month after CenturyLink added its hyperscale cloud business to the responsibilities of David Young, who will continue to lead the telecommunications company's public sector business.
Zain will lead CenturyLink’s efforts around networks, cloud computing, cybersecurity and IT mission support. The company holds positions on contract vehicles such as Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions and Alliant 2.
He brings 18 years of experience supporting the federal market. Earlier in his career, he founded an IT recycling business based in Dubai and worked for Verizon.
