General Atomics' unmanned shop makes acquisition

General Atomics’ unmanned aircraft business has acquired a majority of the assets of IJK Controls, a provider of technologies that augment remotely piloted vehicles.

The acquisition involves some IJK facilities, all intellectual property and the workforce. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems said Thursday it made the deal to add capabilities in electro-optical/infrared and radio frequency systems.

GA-ASI also touts IJK’s offerings in other systems that support airborne ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance), communications and weapons.

Pasadena, California-based IJK provides technologies for stabilizing, pointing and tracking cameras, sensors and antennas.
