Guidepost creates national security group

Guidepost Solutions has created a national security practice and has named Stephanie Douglas as president of the new unit.

Douglas was formerly executive assistant director of FBI's national security branch and oversaw global counterterrorism, counterintelligence and intelligence operations.

The Guidepost unit will focus on helping companies comply with government regulations in areas such as requirements for the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, sanctions and export controls, and cybersecurity. She will work in the firm's Washington, D.C. and San Francisco offices.

“The global nature of today’s business can often intersect with national security issues. We hope to work with businesses to better understand and mitigate those areas of concern, both for the client and for the government,” Douglas said in a statement.
