Unisys takes $214M DOD 'Fourth Estate' IT contract
Unisys reports its win of a $214 million contract to help so-called "Fourth Estate" Defense Department agencies consolidate their IT activities.
Unisys Corp.’s federal segment has booked a potential four-year, $214 million contract to help update and consolidate technology service desk and other field IT activities for Defense Department agencies outside of the military service branches.
This is the second large Defense Information Systems Agency IT contract Unisys has won in the calendar year so far. Earlier in October, Unisys reported a separate $152 million award to help DISA’s Joint Service Provider organization manage and maintain DOD’s overall IT infrastructure.
In a release Monday, Unisys said the latest award from DISA covers a single base year and three individual option years. The contract supports DOD’s so-called “Fourth Estate” agencies and field activities that provide functions for the service branches.
Unisys will apply its InteliServe managed service platform for the new contract with DISA. InteliServe is designed to help users access IT support via more than one channel and incorporate automation technologies to correct issues.
Federal has been a cornerstone of Unisys' reversal of financial fortunes. In 2018, Unisys grew revenue for the full year for the first time in 15 years.
