Just under one year since its creation, Converged Security Solutions has made an acquisition to add more cyber defense services for government and commercial entities.

CSS said Tuesday it has purchased Maverick Cyber-Defense, a provider of risk and vulnerability assessments, cyber operations and security programs. Terms of the transaction were undisclosed.

Reston, Virginia-based CSS was formed in September of last year through a merger of two other secure IT companies in Evolver and eVigilant. CSS is backed by private equity firms Akoya Capital and Hillcrest Holdings.

Maverick’s customers include government agencies in the Defense Department and intelligence community, state and local markets, and commercial businesses. The company’s services also include continuous validation, exercises and training.
