Army looks to bolster digital simulations

The Army's Combat Capabilities Development Command is working on a new contract for digital simulation facilities to improve training and readiness.
The Army is starting to develop a new contract to support digital simulations facilities for the branch's Combat Capabilities Development Command.
Work will include simulator development, operations, maintenance and improvement, according to a new sources sought notice.
Functional areas will include systems engineering, systems development, configuration management, target generation, controls, interfaces, hardware and software and distributed digital simulations.
In developing the simulator, the contractor will also need to incorporate analog and digital simulators, airborne data collection, test ranges, end-game data collection and lethality.
This request for information is the start of the market research portion of development of the contract. The Army is trying to understand the state of the art for digital simulations and to gather information on the prior experiences of potential bidders.
