Helfrich named CEO of Deloitte Consulting

Find opportunities — and win them.

Deloitte has named Dan Helfrich, its public sector leader, as the chair and CEO of Deloitte Consulting. His replacement has yet to be named.

Dan Helfrich has had quite the run as the leader of Deloitte’s public sector business in the past three years and apparently the bosses have noticed.

Helfrich this week was named CEO and chairman of Deloitte Consulting. He succeeds Janet Fouty, who has been elevated to chair of the Deloitte U.S. board of directors. Deloitte U.S. is the parent organization over Deloitte Consulting and Deloitte & Touche.

The move was one of three leadership changes Deloitte U.S. has made this week. Lara Abrash was named chair and CEO of Deloitte & Touche, and John Peirson was named CEO of Deloitte Risk & Advisory.

All of the changes are effective June 2.

Helfrich has been with Deloitte for 20 years. Almost 15 years ago, he was one of a handful of Deloitte partners who made the business case to pursue the federal market. Since then, they’ve grown the business to more than 13,000 people and more than $1 billion in annual revenue.

The company has not yet named a replacement but an announcement is expected “shortly,” a spokeswoman said.

Helfrich has become thought leader in the market, often speaking on old strategies are dying and that companies need to adapt to survive. Listen to our Project 38 podcast with Helfrich.
