Final DOD cloud email solicitation hits the streets

The Defense Department has released the final solicitation for its $8.2 billion email and collaboration contract but you have to be a Schedule 70 holder to see it.
The Defense Department has released the final solicitation for its $8.2 billion cloud contract for email and collaboration services.
Known as the Defense Enterprise Office Solution contract or "DEOS," the vehicle will be used by the Defense Information Systems Agency to move some 3.1 million end users to a cloud-based environment that will be used for both classified and unclassified communications.
DISA is competing the contract under GSA’s Schedule 70 vehicle. Like its more controversial sibling JEDI, DEOS will be a single award contract. DISA will buy email, content management, file storage, productivity tools, web conferencing, instant messaging, native audio and video and mobility through a commercial cloud model.
Deltek is reporting that the final solicitation was released Friday. It has not been published on FBO.gov, where it would be publicly available. But it has been released to Schedule 70 holders through GSA’s procurement portals.
Questions on the solicitation are due May 7, but a pre-request for quotations conference is being held at 11 a.m. on May 6.
Proposals are due May 28.
