ECS Federal has receives a $78.8 million Army contract for services related to machine learning and computer vision engineering.
Computer vision engineering deals with teaching computers to gain high levels of understanding from images and videos and automating visual tasks that humans do.
ECS Federal has added to its machine learning capabilities in the past year through partnerships with Amazon Web Services. In May, the company said it achieved AWS Machine Learning Competency status, which recognized ECS’ consulting in the machine learning and artificial intelligence area.
The company also has partnerships with Google and Microsoft Azure and has established a cloud center of excellence.
ECS will work with the Army on machine learning initiatives through Dec. 31, 2020.
Work will take place in Fairfax, Virginia and the Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland awarded the contract.
ECS was the lone bidder for this contract.
