Army takes a second shot at awarding $25.5B logistics contract

Things might be a bit different this time around for the Army’s $25.5 billion Worldwide Logistics Support Services and Contractor Logistics Services contract.

The Army first made awards to six companies in April but two unsuccessful bidders – Black Hall Aerospace and Leidos – filed protests, which led the Army to take a corrective action and pull back the awards.

Now the Army has made new awards and guess who is on the list of eight winners? Black Hall and Leidos. The original six winners also kept their spots.

The eight companies that will now compete for task orders are:

• Vertex Aerospace
• AAR Supply Chain Inc.
• Dyncorp International Inc.
• Arma Aviation Corp.
• North American Surveillance Systems Inc.
• Pinnacle Solutions Inc.
• Black Hall Aerospace
• Leidos

North American Surveillance Systems, Pinnacle and Black Hall are small business winners of the contract.

The Army says that it received 10 bids for the work, so there is a possibility that two other protests could be file.

The contract is for 10 years and covers services such as logistics support, maintenance support, supply support, aircraft and flight operations, training, field teams and engineering services. A lot of the work centers on supporting the Army’s helicopter fleet
