Air Force plans $24.9M measurement, signature intell project

The Air Force has plans for a five-year, $24.9 million project in measurement and signatures intelligence exploitation.

The department wants research on innovative, disruptive technologies and methods in MASINT-X and six similar disciplines.

Sub-disciplines include:

  • Electro-Optical
  • Radar
  • Materials
  • Radio frequency
  • Geophysical
  • Cyber-physical

The Air Force will make awards in the form of contracts, grants, cooperative agreements and other transactions, based on the proposed work. Officials are currently asking for white papers.

They will accept them until Sept. 30, 2020. However, they warned that the likelihood of funding will decrease in each fiscal year.
