DTRA taps six for $970M threat reduction program support contract

Six companies have won positions on a potential $970 million contract to help the Defense Threat Reduction Agency run a partnership program to help other countries defend against weapons of mass destruction.

DTRA received seven bids for the recompeted Cooperative Threat Reduction Program Support Contract 3. The Defense Department said in its Tuesday contracts digest that awardees will vie for task orders to perform work over the ordering period.

Winners are Black and Veatch, CH2M (acquired by Jacobs Engineering Group), PAE, Parsons Corp., Raytheon and the URS Federal Services business of AECOM.

Bechtel is an incumbent that was not selected for this iteration while Parsons, Raytheon and URS will continue their incumbencies, according to Deltek. The previous version was awarded in 2011.

DTRA also rolled up services from the Biological Threat Reduction Integration contract awarded in 2008 into the new CRTIC contract. Bechtel will not continue its work as a BTRIC contract incumbent. Black & Veatch, CH2M and URS will continue their work from BTRIC.

CTRIC 3’s ordering period is for five base years followed by a two-year option. After that comes an additional three-year period for delivery and invoicing only.
