The Marine Corps has turned to a think tank to help it discern what new technologies can help improve warfighter capabilities.
Under a $2.5 million contract, the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies will look at expeditionary capabilities across a range of Marine Corps missions.
The contract supports the corps Center for Emerging Threats and Opportunities.
The institute will provide research and development expertise to help in developing innovative operational and organizational concepts to the Marine Air Ground Task Force.
The Marine Corps wants to improve the task force’s expeditionary capabilities and flexibility across an array of possible missions and environments. The research and development will support in identifying, monitoring, and evaluating technologies to enhance the current and future warfighting abilities.
