Single Best Deal

Find opportunities — and win them.

Booz Allen buys Aquilent and is recognized as the best single deal of the year.

Buyer: Booz Allen Hamilton

Acquisition: Aquilent

Value: $250 million

Why: The deal bolstered Booz Allen’s capabilities around digital, agile, DevOps, and cloud capabilities. Aquilent had grown rapidly with customers at HHS, Postal Service, GSA and other federal agencies.

The deal stood out because Booz Allen doesn’t make large acquisitions often and this was a large one for them. It fits well with Booz Allen’s Vision 2020 strategy to infuse their consulting capabilities with technology services, plus to target growth areas such as digital and cloud computing.
