Market Newcomer

Belcan makes three deals to create a federal platform.

Buyer: Belcan

Targets: The Kemtah Group and Schafer Corp.

Value: Undisclosed.

Why: Beclan is a Cincinnati-based engineering firm founded in 1958 but it was non-existent in the government market until 2016 when it acquired Intercom Consulting & Federal Systems Corp. In 2017, it followed that deals with two more -- the Kemtah Group and Schafer Corp. After closing those deals, Belcan stood up a government segment. Its leadership says more deals are on the way. Belcan itself was acquired by private equity firm AE Industrial Partners in 2015.
