The new era of cyber compliance requirements
Our first webcast of the year will feature a team of experts offering advice and insights on the new cyber compliance requirements contractors need to meet.
Washington Technology’s first webcast of 2018 is slated for Jan. 25 and we’re taking on the topic of the new compliance requirements for securing government data contractor networks.
And we have stellar lineup of speakers for the one-hour event: Ron Ross of NIST; Maria Proestou, CEO of Delta Resources; and Susan Cassidy, partner, Covington & Burling.
Ross is one of the architects of NIST Special Publication 800-171 that covers the protection of controlled, unclassified information on non-government systems. He’ll be able to speak to the genesis of the NIST standard and what he thinks contractors need to do.
As CEO and founder of a mid-tier company, Proestou will share the steps her company has taken and the lessons learned from that process.
Cassidy is an attorney who specializes in government contracts and cybersecurity issues. She’ll talk about requirements and risks.
It is sure to be an engaging and insightful hour with these three experts.
They will each make a presentation and then comes the question-and-answer session.
My job as moderator will be to stay out of the way.
Some of the key takeaways:
- Advice and guidance on compliance
- Best practices in areas such as training, risk management and planning
