Army reserve portal notice seeks small businesses

The Army is looking for small businesses to provide the services needed to operate and support its Army Reserve Portal Tool (ARPT).

The Army is considering whether to issue a solicitation set aside for small businesses, but officials must determine how many small businesses could, in fact, perform the array of demands of the ARPT, according to the sources sought notice.

Small businesses would need to have the technical knowledge and project management capabilities for continuous ARPT technical support services. They would also need to provide professional support for emerging technologies, which include Cloud migration.

ARPT is a content discovery processing platform. It pulls data from external sources and providing outputs and information that meet user requirements.

The Army Reserve network includes 840 remote sites and 51,000 registered users with 5,000 daily users. The Army receives roughly 450 help desk requests per month with 60 percent of the requests for access.

The ARPT custom Relational Productivity Modules (RPM) are configured to and operating on enterprise versions of Microsoft SharePoint and SQL.

Responses to the sources sought notice are due by Sept. 22. The Army released the notice Sept. 8.
