VA seeks telecom asset management tool for EIS

The Veterans Affairs Department needs a software management solution to provide lifecycle telecommunications asset management.

An Aug. 23 request for information says department is seeking the solution to help it with ordering, billing, inventory monitoring, purchase order tracking, and invoicing. At the same time, the VA wants to find ways to reduce operating expenses.

Any acquisition management software offered must support the General Services Administration Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract. The $50 billion contract was awarded earlier this month to 10 companies, who will provide telecom and related services to government agencies. It is the follow-on contract to Networx.

The VA issued the request for information to find the capabilities available in the marketplace, as well as industry practices. A five-year contract for the solution is under consideration also.
