DHS plans Unity of Effort Event

The Homeland Security Department plans to host an industry conversation surrounding its Unity of Effort initiative.

The event will offer a venue to discuss program-specific issues that cross multiple components and impact the DHS Unity of Effort initiative.

The Homeland Security Department will host its third Strategic Industry Conversation in October as officials continue discussing their Unity of Effort initiative.

DHS said in an Aug. 21 FedBizOpps notice the event will take place between Oct. 17 and Oct. 21 though the exect date has not yet been specified. More details are set to come in the near future, according to an Aug. 21 FedBizOpps notice from DHS.

DHS is seeking input on additional topics of interest to industry and government. The department is accepting suggestions for subjects until Aug. 31. At previous events, DHS officials and industry experts have discussed cybersecurity, biometrics, and research-and-development.

The Unity of Effort initiative is based on the notion that a department works best when its parts are interconnected and operate with greater cohesion.

For these goals, the Acquisition Innovations in Motion is a series of industry engagement events and conversations focused on shared learning between DHS and industry.
