Engility eliminates COO, president position

Engility has eliminated the position of chief operating officer and president, following a strategic review. John Hynes will leave the company effective June 30.
Following what the company called a “strategic review,” Engility Corp. has eliminated the position of president and chief operating officer.
John Hynes, who has held those titles since Engility acquired TASC in 2015, will leave the company effective June 30, according to an Engility filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
His bio has already been removed from the company website.
“We are grateful for [his] six-year service to TASC/Engility, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” the company said in a statement.
The company will still be led by Lynn Dugle, who became CEO in March 2016, replacing Tony Smeraglinolo.
Reporting to Dugle are five senior vice presidents who run the company’s operating units – intelligence, defense, federal civilian, space and products.
Engility is ranked No. 22 on Washington Technology’s 2017 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
Before the sale of TASC to Engility, Hynes was the company’s president and CEO and earlier was executive vice president, COO and a senior vice president.
Before TASC, Hynes was an executive at Science Applications International Corp. for seven years and ManTech International for two.
