Navy taps San Diego company for readiness system

A San Diego company has won a $92.7 million follow-on contract to help the Navy with a readiness reporting system.

InnovaSystems International was one of two incumbents on the contract along with Booz Allen Hamilton. But this time around the Navy only made a single award. The two companies had shared the award and competed for task orders since 2012. Booz Allen declined to comment on the contract.

The Defense Readiness Reporting System-Navy tracks readiness of equipment, supplies, personnel and training. InnovaSystems will provide systems engineering, integration, testing, installation, training, helpdesk, documentation and other support.

The system supplies commanders with readiness reports and assessments.

According to their website, InnovaSystems won the DRRS-Army in 2015. In August, SAIC won the DRRS system for the Marine Corps, according to Deltek.

For the Navy award, InnovaSystems competed against three other companies. Most of the work will be done in Norfolk, Va., but also at other locations worldwide. The contract has a three-year base and one two-year option. With options it runs through March 2022.
