Booz takes $87.2M Navy readiness contract

Booz Allen Hamilton bested two other competitors in taking an $87.2 million contract to help the Naval Aviation Enterprise with warfighter readiness.

Booz Allen was an incumbent along with CACI International but in the recompete the Navy decided to go with just one prime.

The Naval Aviation Enterprise tries to get the different parts of the Navy aviation community to work together to lower costs and improve effectiveness of the warfighter.

Booz Allen will help with analysis, training and metrics support, according to solicitation documents.

Booz Allen declined to comment on the win, and CACI didn't respond to my request.

In digging around, I found that according to Deltek’s data, Booz Allen did $264.4 million in work under the older contract, while they recorded no work for CACI.

It is interesting that Booz did so much work under the old contract, yet the new version has a much lower ceiling.

The Navy wants to improve readiness and get a better sense of the total cost of aviation operations by improving coordination among the warfighter, chief of naval operations staff, resource sponsors and others.

Booz Allen will conduct strategic, tactical and operational level planning and management studies, analyze customer needs, develop performance goals and financial metrics, and help with the budget process.

The Navy wants to be able to compared value achieved versus actual and planned costs.

The contract runs through April 2022.
