The General Services Administration’s acquisition gateway, a keystone for the agency’s category management strategy, expanded its IT resources and access in 2016, according to FCW.
When the gateway launched in October 2014, the IT hardware and IT software categories were two of the three “hallways” that house information; now, the gateway has 19 hallways aligned with 10 common federal government nondefense spend categories, FCW reported. The gateway has seen approximately 10,000 users since its launch.
The IT category now has six of the 19 hallway and saw 3,000 visitors in 2016. Those 3,000 visitors had access to 150 articles written by acquisition experts, and that yielded more than 2,800 page views.
In the coming months, said Mary Davie, GSA assistant commissioner for Office of Information Technology Category in GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service, the agency wants to integrate new apps into the gateway and develop new user tutorials, improve and expand the document library and improve search capabilities.
