Army plans industry day for R&D cyber defense acquisition

The Army will host an industry day next month to discuss an upcoming contract for R&D related to defensive cyber operations.

The Army will host an industry day in December to discuss an upcoming acquisition for research and development and technical services related to defensive cyber operations.

The event is scheduled for Dec. 13 in Adelphi, Md. The Army Research Laboratory wants to find qualified contractors that can support cyber defense evolutions, according to procurement documents.

The lab wants to identify contractors with the skills and experience to provide support for research and development and technical services.

The Army Research Lab is focused on improving the capabilities to combat cyber adversaries and investigating the next generation of defensive cyber operational tools and techniques. It also wants to advance tactical network security and explore prospective sensor capabilities and components of the information security continuous monitoring strategy.

The lab works with other cybersecurity service providers, the law enforcement and counterintelligence communities in the areas of technology development and computer security research.

The Army released an acquisition presolicitation and industry day announcement Nov. 15. Responses and reservations are due by Dec. 1.
