Raytheon to continue Defense Transportation System support under $10M contract

Raytheon BBN Technologies Corp. has won a $10 million contract extension with the U.S. Transportation Command to continue its support of the Defense Transportation System.

Raytheon BBN Technologies Corp. has won a $10 million contract extension with the U.S. Transportation Command to continue its support of the Defense Transportation System.

The extension, according to the Defense Department, brings the total value of the overall contract to $45 million.

Under the contract, Raytheon BBN Technologies will continue to provide analysis of mobility platform support, which is a transportation modeling and simulation framework used to achieve end-to-end simulation of the Defense Transportation System.

The DTS is a collection of transportation activities and carriers belonging or under contract to the Defense Department and includes commercial and organic aircraft and ships and commercial small package services under contract to the Defense Department, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said on its website.

Work will be performed at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., and Cambridge, Mass., and is expected to be completed in September 2017.
