Fusion Technology of Reston, Va., and Bridgeport, W.Va., provides enterprise talent management solutions and instructional systems design strategies. A source has told me that one of its biggest customers in the CIA.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to its website, Fusion holds several contracts including Alliant Small Business, Mobis, and NIH CIO-SP3.
In a company statement, Calibre CEO Joe Martore said that the Fusion acquisition is part of Calibre’s diversification strategy and positions the company to pursue new opportunities.
“The acquisition of Fusion Technology combines complementary capabilities of our two companies and provides opportunities to build upon a strategic fit and shared core values of integrity, innovation, and excellence in supporting defense, federal civil, and intelligence community markets,” Martore said.
This is the second acquisition in just over a year for Calibre. In August 2015, the company acquired the government business of Information Management Consultants, adding capabilities in health and life sciences as well as defense and civilian customers.
Fusion was founded in 2007 by Malcolm Patel.
The investment bank KippsDeSanto served as an advisor to Fusion. The firm also advised IMC on its sale to Calibre as well.
