By Light Professional IT Services appoints new chief medical officer

By Light Professional IT Services has appointed Dr. Steve Kastin to the position of chief medical officer and healthcare IT strategist.

Kastin joins the company from the Veterans Affairs Department where he served in a number of roles including director of diagnostic services at the Bronx VA Medical Center and chief health informatics officer and chief information officer for the VA New York/New Jersey Healthcare Network.

In his new role, Kastin will provide insight into clinical IT needs and processes from a healthcare provider’s perspective. He will also provide foresight into where the medical field is headed, the company said in a release.
