The Office of Management and Budget released a directive giving agencies guidelines for buying mobile devices and services, according to FCW.
The new policy directs agencies to, every quarter, report data on mobile service usage and pricing to a centrally managed system in order to help eliminate unnecessary inventory and services, FCW reported. Agencies will also be required to use a governmentwide or agencywide solution if appropriate.
OMB will post the data to the General Services Administration’s Acquisition Gateway to help other agencies, FCW reported.
