Grant Thornton adds GAO vet to public sector team

Grant Thornton has hired a GAO veteran and former Olympic rower to its public sector fraud risk assessment team.

Grant Thornton has hired a veteran of the Government Accountability Office to strengthen the firm’s public sector fraud risk assessment team.

Linda S. Miller has been named a director at Grant Thornton and will help the firm’s public sector clients who are looking to assess and reduce their risk of fraud.

Miller was the assistant director of forensic audits and investigative service at GAO for the last 10 years. She led the development of the Framework for Managing Fraud Risk in Federal Programs, a guidance for federal program managers.

She also has served as adjunct professor at George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration.

Miller also is a former Olympian as a member of the U.S. Olympic women’s rowing team from 1996 to 2000, competing in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
