Air Force Special Ops looking for new records system

The Air Force Special Operations Command is looking for a new solution to replace its current records management system that it says is tedious, too manual and not user-friendly.
The Air Force Special Operations Command has a tedious, manual way of managing its records and it is frankly tired of it.
The Air Force has released a sources sought notice to collect information on commercial records management systems.

- Unnecessarily labor intensive
The Air Force wants an automated management solution to improve timeliness and consistency of outcomes and reduce the burden on end users, according to a FBO.gov posting.
It is looking for a solution that has a “Google-type” search engine and an ability to tag data for access, search and disposition. The records management system also needs the capability to handle Freedom of Information Act requests, investigations and deletion of records per disposition instructions.
The system would have to integrate with Air Force active directory, CAC authentication and be compatible with Microsoft Office.
The Air Force also wants the system to be able to file, tag, retrieve, save and archive large video files in their native format.
The system also can be hosted in the cloud or on the local premises.
Responses to the sources sought notice are due Aug. 15.
