ManTech objects to $62.7M Missile Defense award to Booz Allen

ManTech International filed a bid protest this week over a $62.7 million Missile Defense Agency award that went to Booz Allen Hamilton.

Booz won the contract on May 10 to provide advisory and assistance services to MDA. The work under the five-year contract includes technical, engineering, advisory and management support for the Ballistic Missile Defense System. The contract is known as TEAMS.

Some of the specific support under the contract includes developing, implementing, maintaining and assessing security, emergency management and program protection for the missile defense system. This includes missile defense technologies, facilities, information and people.

The contractor also will be used to support the review of classified and controlled unclassified information and its disclosure to foreign governments and international organizations. There are also other international aspects such as assessing international visits and assignments to MDA, tech transfer and import licensing.

The work previously was done under the Missile Defense Agency Engineering and Support Services contract, a multiple award contract.

While details of ManTech’s protest are not available, at this stage companies are generally claiming errors with the source selection process such as the choice being unreasonable. A decision from the Government Accountability Office is expected by Aug. 31.
