DISA to release $70M milCloud 2 RFP in early June
DISA is preparing to release the solicitation for phase 1 of its $70 million milCloud 2 contract in early June.
The Defense Information Systems Agency announced it will release a request for proposals for phase 1 of its $70 million milCloud 2 contract on June 6.
DISA plans to award a five-year, single-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract.
With the contract, DISA aims to bring commercial infrastructure services into Defense Department facilities. It wants to connect DOD networks in a private deployment model for defense agencies. The contractor will also provide engineering services to support the transition into the new service infrastructure.
Some of the infrastructure services DISA is looking for include workload/virtual machine management services, object storage, block storage and assorted support services such as provision, metering, billing, etc, according to solicitation documents posted by Deltek.
DISA wants to create a more resilient and robust infrastructure, reduce its total cost of ownership, provide solutions that can move across hosting models and service contractors, increase the cybersecurity posture and promote green IT.
DISA issued the pre-solicitation notice May 20.
