DHS bureau looks for web-based workers comp system
U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services is collecting data on web-based case management systems as it develops a new contract for its workers comp program.
The Homeland Security Department is looking to field a web-based workers compensation system that will give the agency more insights and controls over the program.
The DHS bureau U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services wants a web-based case management system that can provide a variety of analysis and report generation in addition to management. Currently, the system is very manual, according to a new request for information.
The USCIS Office of Human Capital and Training runs the workers comp program.
The contract likely will be fixed-price and will cover software, training, project management and maintenance and support. The agency also wants connectivity into the Labor Department.
The software will need to track and manage all stages of the workers compensation claims process and will need to accommodate at least 50 users at one time. There also will be options to add more users. The primary users will be USCIS workers comp personnel, supervisors and injured employees.
The system will need to submit and receive claim data from the Labor Department and connect with the National Finance Center Payroll and Process Center. The contractor will need to meet file format requirements and connectivity that is mandated by the Labor Department.
Some of the goals include:
- Compiling and generating reports to improve business performance and meet reporting requirements
- Identify and track trends around workplace injuries and illnesses
- Provide status on day-to-day activity as part of the case management function
- Allow the workers compensation program manager access to USCIS-wide claims data to allow for program oversight
The vendor must be FedRAMP certified and be able o support USCIS single sign-on access using the Personal Identity Verification card.
The agency wants software delivered within 30 days of award and provides installation support of the software on a central server. The vendor is expected to host the software and allow USCIS employees to access the system through web browser.
Responses to the RFI are due May 26. There is no indication in the notice of when a solicitation will be issued.
