ACQUIRE show brings opportunity for education, networking and more

Find opportunities — and win them.

The ACQUIRE Show that WT parent company 1105 Media is producing includes a diverse lineup of government speakers, which means plenty of networking opportunities for industry.

The upcoming ACQUIRE Show that my company is producing will have something for everyone that works in the government market.

In addition to the Washington Technology track and our slate of industry day type presentations, there are some great keynotes including Joshua Cooper Ramo, the author of The Seventh Sense: Power, Fortune and Survival in the Age of Networks, and former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her astronaut husband Mark Kelly.

In addition to the show floor there also are sessions and panels on topics such as acquisition, legacy IT (Keep it or Kick it?), and the release of the Acquisition Policy Survey by the Professional Services Council and the accounting firm Grant Thornton.

The legacy IT panel will feature Rob Klopp, the CIO of the Social Security Administration, and Jason Martin, services directorate executive from DISA.

Mary Davie from GSA and Bobby McCane, chief procurement officer for mission support at FEMA, are headlining the innovations in acquisition panel.

Because we expect a healthy attendance by government officials, this should create a great opportunity for networking with customers or potential customers.

You should check out the speakers page for more details on the line up.

And don’t forget partnering with other companies you might discover at the show as well as the need to keep track of your competitors.

In addition to the IT track there also are tracks around professional services (the Professional Services Council is a presenting partner with us), talent management, project management and acquisition management.

Our sister publication, FCW also is bringing its popular FCW Bookshelf to life with live interviews with authors such as David Hall (the Takedown of a $100 Million Chinese Software Pirate), William Eggers (Delivering on Digital: The innovators and Technologies that are Transforming Government) and Pagan Kennedy (Inventology: How We Dream Up Things that Change the World.)

I’ll be blogging more as the event gets closer. Here is a link for more info and to register.
