Vencore Labs has won a $7.7 million contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to support defense efforts against distributed denial of services (DDoS) attacks on computer networks.

Vencore Labs has won a $7.7 million contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to support defense efforts against distributed denial of services (DDoS) attacks on computer networks.

The contract was awarded as part of DARPA’s Extreme DDoS Defense program, which seeks to develop revolutionary advances in the area of resilient defenses against DDoS attacks, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in Basking Ridge, N.J., Arlington, Va., and Santa Barbara, Calif., and is expected to be completed in April 2019.

Fifty-four companies bid on this contract, the Defense Department said.
