Three small businesses win $10M contract to support weapon control system

Three small businesses have won spots on a $9.9 million contract with the Navy to support the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control Systems suites for installation in new ships and retrofit into existing ships.

The winners are:

• Crestwood Technology Group
• Gideon Services
• RC Electronics

The TTWCS system computes the missile's route to strike targets and provides the capability to plan new missions aboard the launch platform and communicate with multiple Tomahawks to rapidly retarget and redirect the missiles in flight, according to a Lockheed Martin press release.

Under the contract, the companies will deliver commercial off-the-shelf electronics, hardware, and components.

Work will take place in Yonkers, N.Y., Huntsville, Ala., and Orange, Calif., and is expected to be completed in April 2019.

These three small businesses were the only bidders, according to the Defense Department.
