Silicon Valley companies frustrated with lengthy federal procurement process

Despite the federal government’s push to work with them, Silicon Valley companies are frustrated about how long the contract process takes, according to FCW.

The Defense Department’s Silicon Valley outpost, known as the Defense Innovation Unit Experimental, has not yet seen a lot of Silicon Valley support.

Once startups get their foot in the door, it must then address concerns about intellectual property and funding issues, resulting in “a lot of meetings where we talk, [but] no decisions get made,” Mylea Charvat, founder and CEO of Savonix, was quoted as saying.
