Raytheon nabs $1B contract to provide next-gen jammer
Raytheon has won a $1 billion contract with the Navy to design, manufacture, integrate, demonstrate and test 15 Next Generation Jammer.
Raytheon has won a $1 billion contract with the Navy to design, manufacture, integrate, demonstrate and test 15 Next Generation Jammer.
The company will also deliver 14 aeromechanical pods for airworthiness certification.
The Next Generation Jammer is an advanced electronic attack technology that combines high-powered, agile, beam-jamming techniques with cutting-edge, solid-state electronics, Raytheon said in a release.
The new system replaces the ALQ-9 jammer system on the EA-18G aircraft, the Defense Department said.
Work is expected to be completed in December 2020.
