ManTech, Vencore battle for $223.8 million DHS contract

ManTech International is facing a protest over the winning of a $223.8 million Homeland Security Department contract to support the Customs and Border Protection Office of IT.

The contract is for business intelligence services and was competed through the Eagle II contract.

Vencore, another prime on Eagle II, is the protester.

Because the contract is being competed under the Eagle II contract, it was only open to primes on that $22 billion vehicle. I haven’t had much luck tracking down more information on the contract.

Deltek describes it as business intelligence support.

It also is an interesting that this is a new contract. There is no incumbent. With the rarity of new starts, it’s no wonder that there is a protest.

Of course, this contract could be combining two or more smaller contracts for business intelligence, but I have no way of determining that.

The award to ManTech was announced March 28, and Vencore filed its protest April 7. Others could be on the way, so I’ll keep an eye out on that.

The contract runs through March 28, 2021.

The Government Accountability Office docket says the protest will be resolved by July 18.
