Raytheon awarded $7.7M contract extension to support encryption program

Raytheon has won a $7.7 million contract modification with the Air Force to continue its engineering work in support of the VINSON/ANDVT Cryptographic Modernization program.

Raytheon has won a $7.7 million contract modification with the Air Force to continue its engineering work in support of the VINSON/ANDVT Cryptographic Modernization program.

The program, Raytheon said in a release, is dedicated to setting new standards for encryption performance and ease of use.

Under the contract modification, Raytheon will implement hardware changes related to design issues and parts obsolescence, as well as software deficiencies identified during testing, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Largo, Fla., and is expected to be completed in March 2017.
