Federal IT officials spill what they want from contractors

Find opportunities — and win them.

Three senior federal IT officials share what they want from contractors: flexibility, patience and help with legacy systems to name a few.

At a recent AFCEA Bethesda breakfast, three senior federal IT officials shared what they want from contractors, according to FCW.

For one, contractors can help with the redundancy of legacy systems. One CIO said that contractors need to be flexible to work around her schedule and not expect her to be involved in every single procurement decision.

Another official stressed that contractors should not get too caught up with buzzwords that have been beaten to death like “agile,” as it has a tendency to fall on deaf ears, and said he instead prefers a hybrid model over an agile one, FCW reported.
