DISA issues new RFI for global command and control system

The Defense Information Systems Agency has released a new sources sought notice for sustainment and maintenance support for the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) program.

DISA is researching the market to determine what large and small businesses could provide the necessary services for the GCCS-J program. DISA estimates a contract award in January 2017.

The GCCS-J program needs support in sustainment, maintenance, and fielding and mission critical engineering of the GCCS-J system. Tasks will include operations, onsite support, training, technology refresh, and maintenance of the system, which keeps it operating at a high level of availability and utility for the warfighter.

The GCCS-J is a software-based system that provides situational awareness of friendly, enemy and neutral forces, facilities and assets, crisis action planning, interoperability between joint forces and joint coalition forces, and intelligence community information.

The incumbent contractor is Northrop Grumman. According to Deltek, the contract is worth $58 million.

DISA released the sources sought notice Nov. 10. Responses are due by Dec. 2.
