Two win $1.6B Navy C4ISR contract
M.C. Dean and Honeywell win $1.6 billion contract to put new C4ISR systems on Navy vessels.
M.C. Dean Inc. and Honeywell Technology Solutions have each won contracts worth more than $800 million to install command and control equipment and systems on Navy vessels.
The contract won by M.C. Dean is worth $853.8 million, while the Honeywell contract is worth $805.2 million.
The companies were the only bidders on the contract.
They will install command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and certify that the equipment is operational.
The primary user of the contact is the C4I, Space and Naval Wafare Systems Command but other uses will include other U.S. government customers and foreign military sales customers.
The work will take place on Navy vessels and platforms on the east and west costs as well as other locations worldwide. The contract runs through February 2019.
